Creating The Right Space For Your Beginners Meditation

We all know that one of the most common hindrances to daily beginners meditation practice is space.

Yes – space.

Having your own personal meditation space is crucial to establish a strong and significant meditation practice.  An inspiring and comfortable area will surely decrease distractions and encourage positive vibrations. This article will provide you with helpful insights and tips for how to have the perfect meditation space.

There are 3 key elements that you need to know to create the right personal space for your beginners meditation.

·         Quiet Space

This is far by the most important among the three.  A noisy place will cause unwanted distractions and will prevent you to focus, relax, and properly perform your meditation practice.  Try to find a peaceful place in your home.  A quiet space helps you establish deeper concentration so you can delve into your thoughts and be able to relax both your mind and body.

·         Equipment

In beginners mediation, just like for more experienced meditators, need to have the right equipment in order to achieve your highest possible potentials.  In meditating, you need items such as loose clothing to promote proper circulation, a mediation cushion or Zafu or chair if seated on the floor is difficult and a meditation timer to set your meditation time.

A cushion for meditation could be really beneficial if you are sitting for longer periods of time.  The chair could also help you to have a comfortable posture.  The timer is also a must.  It serves as a reminder that your meditation session ends.  The timer could also gauge how long you are able to practice meditation.

·         Inspirational Items

Placing items that inspire you can really help your meditation practice.  Pictures, books, figurines, scented candles, or any item that can uplift you can be placed in your beginners meditation area.

Once you have these three elements present, you can now perform beginners meditation with less difficulty.  Keep your area clean and if possible make it exclusive for your beginners meditation practice.
